literacy education

This program is designed to help your child lower frustration, boost comprehension and learn how to apply new skills. We offer programming such as Creative Literacy, YA Book Club, Tutoring, Preschool Literacy, and Starter Literacy.

AVAILABLE SESSIONS

Library: FREE

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays 4:00-8:00 pm

  • Thursdays 4:30-8:30 pm

  • Friday 4:00-6:00 pm

  • Open program, all ages

  • This program is designed to help your child lower frustration, boost comprehension and learn how to apply new skills.

 
Tutoring: FREE

  • Mondays 6:30-7:30 pm

  • Wednesdays 5:30-6:00 pm

  • 1st-6th grades

  • Members will be guided by an instructor in content specific areas to complete homework while also building knowledge and skills to then complete work independently. Instructors will base their help on how well the member is succeeding in that area and take appropriate next steps to encourage and help the member get better in that area.

 

Preschool Literacy 2: FREE

  • Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 pm

  • PreK, ages 3-5 (must have taken PS1) 

  • Preschool Literacy 2 enhances the skills that members have learned from Preschool Literacy 1. Members will be learning to fluently read short sentences, as well as begin working on handwriting skills. There will be crafts, activities, and fun! 

 
Starter Literacy: FREE

  • Mondays 5:30-6:30 pm

  • 1st-2nd grades

  • Members will engage in activities pertaining to literacy. They will enhance their pre-existing skills, and also gain new knowledge pertaining to reading, writing, spelling, etc. They will engage in activities such as games, crafts, read aloud, and partner work.
