PARENT'S CORNER

WE'RE LISTENING

We're honored to be a part of your children's education and growth. You trust us with your kids; we don't take it lightly. So, safety is of the utmost importance - volunteers and staff undergo several background checks and documentation verification processes including, but not limited to:

  • PA Child Abuse Clearance (every 3 years)

  • FBI Documentation

  • FBI Fingerprint clearance check (every 3 years)

  • Background Checks—Background Screenings are completed annually, and Human Resources runs additional national background checks as recommended by the Boys and Girls Club of America.

These are updated yearly as well:

  • First Advantage, National Sex Offender (NSO), and PATCH (Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History-State Police)

  • Disclosure Statement Application for Employment, Including Provisional Employment Required by the Child Protective Service Law

  • ACT 31 Mandated Reporter Training

CONTINUOUS MONITORING

We conduct ongoing safety and emotional assessments throughout the year. This continuous monitoring ensures that all children participating in the Sarah Heinz House Association programs receive the necessary attention and support for their successful growth and development.

These are updated yearly as well:

  • NYOI, National Youth Outcomes Initiative, is an annual survey that Boys & Girls Clubs use to assess the well-being of their members.

  • Licensed Social Worker: SHH employs a full-time social worker to help identify and support members with social-emotional needs.

We also conduct safety and emotional checks throughout the year to ensure that all children participating in Sarah Heinz House Association programs are given the attention and support they need to excel.

We also employ the Raptor VisitorSafe system for every adult visitor to our building. Raptor VisitorSafe automatically screens visitors against two databases:

  • The registered sex offender databases that Raptor maintains and keeps up to date for all 50 U.S. states and territories

  • The local school district's databases allow us to include banned/restricted visitors, custody issues, individuals with restraining orders, and more.

Our commitment to your children's growth and development is unwavering.
