Sarah Heinz House Robotics was first founded in 2003, and has been competing ever since. We started out with just FLL competition, and gradually moved on to Vex competition.
Last year we decided we were ready to go to the next level and compete in FRC.
Some words of wisdom we would like to pass on to other teams would be that, "Success is never final, failure is never fatal, its courage that counts." - John Wooden.
Our team consists of 7th-12th graders, and is located at Sarah Heinz House in Pittsburgh, PA. Some mentors we have include our coach Christine Nguyen, and mentors Eric Diller, Ross Higashi, and Yin Li.
Having done FIRST last year we hope to be able to do well in this competition and show that we have what it takes to really compete at this high level of robotics.

FIRST is a national robotics competition aimed at inspiring the youth of this generation to become involved in technology. They are all For The Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. This "Sport for the Mind" envolves people of all ages and genders.
FIRST says,
"If you're 6 to 18 years old, start here...
What do you like to do for fun? Play video games? Listen to music? Read? Play sports?
What if you could join a co-ed team sport that designs and builds robots for competition play, or researches a real-world challenge?
It's a "Sport for the Mind" that needs everybody's talents, boys and girls, whatever they are : computer skills, a knack for building, cheerleading, graphics and costume design, fundraising, organizing, and more.
Your team will be asked to solve some pretty challenging problems, and in the process you'll make lots of new friends, learn from some really talented adults, and discover a lot about what you can do and who you are.
Your team will compete against other local teams and, if you qualify, go on to compete at the regional or even national levels. You can even apply to win college scholarships!
Sound like fun? It is... it's "the hardest fun you'll ever have." Check it out! (By the way, "it" is called FIRST.)"
